Chart notes
POINT PROVEN was unhurried early, moved up two-wide on the turn, angled out to be five-wide entering the stretch and was up in the final sixteenth to win going away. MR MCGREGOR was allowed to settle, rallied four-wide into the stretch and finished strongly. BRITE OUTLOOK saved ground chasing the pace, lacked room and steadied running up on horses nearing the three-sixteenths pole, angled out to be three-wide nearing the eighth pole and finished willingly when clear. PICO D'ORO prompted MACHINE GUN MAN while racing two-wide, took the lead from that one nearing the quarter pole, disputed the issue into the stretch and weakened late. SPECIAL STORMY was reserved off the pace while racing three-wide but lacked a rally. UP N GONE was allowed to settle while racing three-wide on the turn and failed to seriously threaten. MACHINE GUN MAN saved ground setting the pace to the quarter pole and tired. FRENCH COMPOSER raced in the middle of the field for five furlongs and gave way.
