Chart notes
DIXIE PREACH , three wide the first turn, stalked the pace outside horses down the backstretch, circled the far turn three wide, advanced outside COUNTRY SLEW, challenged for the lead near the sixteenth pole and narrowly prevailed. COUNTRY SLEW made the early lead, set the pace in the two path down the backstretch, saved ground the far turn, was hooked in the drive and gave way grudgingly. NOBLE TIGER , three wide the first turn, advanced in the two path leaving the far turn to gain a short lead then weakened in the drive. FIRST SHOT FIRED lacked speed, saved ground the far turn, eased off the rail in upper stretch and offered a mild gain. WILLINGNESS chased the pace along the inner rail down the backstretch, failed to keep pace on the far turn, moved to the five path in upper stretch and came up empty. WILL OF A WARRIOR , outside horses down the backstretch, circled the far turn four wide and weakened.
