WORKS FOR ME stumbled at the start and bumped ANTARES, chased just off the inside and was off heels and in a bit tight and steadied just inside the five furlong marker, tucked inside into the turn, spun just off the inside into upper stretch and was roused angling in to the inside in tandem with BONUS MOVE at the three-sixteenths, advanced into a seam that could only fit one charge and got bumped by BONUS MOVE forcing that rival to pause when beating that one to the clear a furlong out, seized command just inside that station and dug in gamely to fend off a pair of late charging rivals. ANTARES got bumped at the start by WORKS FOR ME, settled just off the inside near the rear of the field, tucked inside into the turn, angled four to five wide into upper stretch, dug in under a drive behind foes and had a large hole open up just inside the eighth pole and angled in to take the clearance, offered up a good finish surging late and latched on the aforementioned foe as he hit the finish. RUN CURTIS RUN shied in at the start filling the space left vacated by WORKS FOR ME, chased three to four wide at the tail of the field and grew rank tossing his head when under restraint nine-sixteenths from home just in behind STEP FORWARD, chased three wide through the turn coming under coaxing near the quarter pole, went seven wide into upper stretch and closed well outside to secure the show honors in the final jumps to the line. FINAL VERDICT broke out a step at the start brushing STEP FORWARD, chased three wide under a ride from the five-sixteenths, angled five wide into upper stretch and kept on to the end. BONUS MOVE chased just off the inside from just off the pace patiently handled until roused spinning two to three wide into upper stretch, angled in spying a seam to the inside of FORE HARP in concert with WORKS FOR ME, went for it at that same time and bumped WORKS FOR ME just inside the three-sixteenths before being forced to pause a furlong out when slightly beaten to the path, got relieved when FORE HARP floated out from the two path to be three wide and came under encouragement once more but was outfinished. REFUEL coaxed from the gate, raced just off the inside in closest aim of the leader, came under urging near the quarter pole and swung three to four wide at the head of the stretch, seized command at the three-sixteenths, dug in under threat from a host of rivals and relented just inside the eighth pole, then weakened in the late stages. URBAN LEGEND chased just off the inside in pursuit from mid pack coming under encouragement at the five-sixteenths, angled out six wide into upper stretch, offered up a bid a furlong out, then flattened out in the late going. STEP FORWARD got brushed at the start by FINAL VERDICT, who broke out a step, chased four then three wide down the backstretch before tucking to the two path through the turn coming under motivation with seven-sixteenths to go, went seven wide into upper stretch, offered no response. FORE HARP coaxed from the gate, cut the pace along the inside through blistering splits coming under coaxing nearing the quarter pole, spun just off the inside into upper stretch, dug in under threat and was collared with three-sixteenths to go, then weakened in the final furlong.
