THE GREAT HAYNES dueled with YAZZY LOVE AND YODERANDO for the early lead while three-wide, opened a clear lead leaving the quarter pole and maintained a safe advantage. JAZZY LOVE dueled for the early lead with THE GREAT HAYNES ducked out nearing the sixteenth pole and held on well for second. HAUGHTY KITTY was unhurried while saving ground, came two-wide into the stretch and finished in a mild rally. YODERANDO disputed the pace the pace from along the inside to three furlongs and weakened. LIBBY'S GAMBIT was allowed to settle while racing three-wide on the turn, came four-wide into the stretch and was not a factor.
