Chart notes
CHECK'S ON THE WAY broke a step slow, sat off the pace on the inside, drew closer while moving out around the bend, bid four wide into the stretch, dueled outside LETMEIN down the lane and proved best. LETMEIN was closest in pursuit up the backstretch, followed two wide around the bend, drew alongside the leader past the quarter pole, put a head in front in upper stretch, battled inside CHECK'S ON THE WAY in the final furlong and yielded grudgingly. WILLISAU tracked just of range in the early going, went two wide into the turn, angled over to the rail then steered back out and drew closer around around the bend, chased three wide turning for home and flattened out. RUMBLE KING broke a step slow and dropped back early, took the turn two wide and passed a tired rival. HEZASPANISHDANCER sent for the lead from inside, raced greenly early and on the turn while setting the pace, took pressure from LETMEIN late on the turn and folded in the stretch run.
