Chart notes
EMERGENCE pursued from midpack along the inside, tipped outside of the top pair while looming a danger turning for home, swept past them with five sixteenths to go, drew off under a drive and was put to wraps with a sixteenth to go. DOMINGO stalked nearing the inside, then outside of the leader around the second turn, pressed down the backstretch, led narrowly while in hand passing the three furlong pole, but got overhauled by an outer challenge leaving the five sixteenths marker, dueled for place with his inner counterpart through the lane and prevailed. PRESIDER showed the way near the inside, felt pressure from an outer rival down the backstretch, got headed by that one at the three furlong pole, then was quickly overhauled by a wider challenger turning for home, battled for place thereafter but was fended off. MALCOLM X (PER) laid off of the pace along the inside, shifted out to the three to four path around the final turn, improved to claim fourth in upper stretch and failed to threaten the top trio. THE HIDDEN CHAMBER laid off of the pace two wide, came under urging along the inside around the final turn and lacked a bid. FORT THOMAS brushed with a rival on both sides while pursuing from the four path and between horses around the first turn, backed off three wide into the backstretch, retreated to trail in the four path around the second turn, improved in the two path around the final bend but failed to factor. MIDNIGHT CHANNEL stalked in the three path while brushing with an outer foe around the first turn, dropped back down the backstretch, weakened around the final turn and was eased through the lane. UNSTABLE PRINCE saw his rider lose an iron leaving the gate, tugged forward in the five to four path while brushing an inner rival around the first turn, stalked three wide around the second turn, but weakened around the far turn and was eased through the lane.
