Chart notes
CHIEF EXPRESS came away well, then seized the front end from BLUSHING KAM, opened up a length or two clear on the turn, and dug in under a threat from that rival at the top of the stretch, finished determinedly under steady handling and urging, while holding clear of that foe to the finish line. BLUSHING KAM settled into a stalking position just behind CHIEF EXPRESS, was content to let that rival carve out the early fractions, then moved to challenge approaching the quarter pole, found that rival resilient, chased under pressure the length of the stretch but could not get by. LAST PENALTY settled inside well off the early pace, advanced on the turn under a drive then sustained the run into the stretch and finished well but was unable to catch the top pair. EASTON'S MOON raced mid-pack to the inside, launched a bid midway on the turn, came three wide into the stretch and finished evenly and was unable the pose a threat in the late stages. MISS DAAHEN tracked in mid-pack five wide down the backstretch, made a forward move on the turn to reach contention by the quarter pole, came five wide into the stretch and faltered. TIZ A BREAKUP raced far back early, kept to the inside and improved some in the late stages. SPLOTCH was off slowly, took up when RANOLOGY came over after the break, was slow to get back into stride and spotted the field a big head start, advanced closer down the backstretch under a ride, then went one-paced in the stretch. REINE LE FER was the distant trailer early, was never a factor and passed a couple of tired ones in the stretch. CACTUS CAT bobbled at the break then raced mid-pack three wide to the turn and was eased in the stretch when hopelessly out of contention. RANOLOGY raced close up in the early stages, then stopped before the three-furlong pole, retreated steadily, and was eased up to the wire.
