Chart notes
MBAGNICK (CHI) sped clear then took pressure from HEJAZI past the half-mile pole, maintained command through the turn, drifted out and brushed HEJAZI inside the eighth pole, battled to the wire and stubbornly held. HEJAZI broke well then switched outside MBAGNICK (CHI) early, pressed that rival past the half-mile pole, kept the heat on around the turn, took light contact from the leader at the eighth pole, fought gamely through the final furlong but could not get by. TRAEGAR stalked three deep into the turn, stayed off the rail to the stretch, lacked the needed bid when called upon but managed to save the show honors. EAGLES FLIGHT stalked the top pair from inside, roused at the quarter pole and weakened down the lane. MANITOWISH tossed his head and broke slow, trailed on the inside, angled out at the top of the lane and never got involved. THE RIDER ABOARD HEJAZI LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER OF MBAGNICK (CHI) FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE NEAR THE EIGHTH POLE. THERE WAS ALSO A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INVOLVING THE SAME MATTER. FOLLOWING A REVIEW, THE STEWARDS UNANIMOUSLY RULED THAT ALTHOUGH MBAGNICK (CHI) DID DRIFT OUT AND MAKE LIGHT CONTACT WITH HEJAZI, THE INCIDENT DID NOT WARRANT A DISQUALIFICATION.
