Chart notes
GAZON (GB) tracked from along the rail into the turn, ranged up inside the top pair late on the turn, put a head in front in upper stretch, inched ahead midstretch and drew away late. HAWKER raced in range outside a rival, ranged up three deep approaching the quarter pole, fought in the four path turning for home, vied three deep to midstretch, could not go on with the winner in the final sixteenth and edged FLEET FEET for second. FLEET FEET pressed the pace from outside then fought on even terms up the backstretch, kept the heat on CURRY around the bend, took a narrow lead past the quarter pole, spun three wide into the lane, fought between rivals to midstretch, yielded in deep stretch and got edged the place honors. CAPTAIN SPARROW brushed outer rival at the start, stalked the top pair in the early going, traveled along the inside then eased over to the two path, paused behind FLEET FEET from the five-sixteenths pole to the quarter pole, came three wide into the drive and could not produce a bid. CASCABEL brushed from inside in the beginning, dropped back early, moved to the inside, saved ground on the far turn, drifted inward in upper stretch, drifted in again at the sixteenth pole and failed to menace. CURRY took a narrow lead under pressure or dueling with FLEET FEET early, inched ahead on the turn, lost command past the quarter pole, yielded to rivals on both sides and chased two wide into the lane, then weakened in the drive.
