Chart notes
SIERRA SILVER stumbled leaving the gate, moved up between rivals, drew alongside PENALTY BOX past the five-sixteenths pole, disposed of that rival approaching the stretch, asked right then left handed and won going away. CHEEVER stalked from inside into the turn, altered out from behind PENALTY BOX at the quarter pole, took aim at SIERRA SILVER In upper stretch, could not threaten the winner in the furlong grounds but was clearly second best. PENALTY BOX sent for the lead and set the tone up the backstretch, moved over to the inside, took pressure from SIERRA SILVER on the turn, yielded once overtaken late on the bend, weakened down the lane but was able to hold third. LORENZO BERNINI lacked early speed and raced outside NASSAUA CIRCLE at the back, passed a few rivals in the two path on the turn and kept on to round out the superfecta. ONE MORE TIME raced up close off the rail then three deep to the turn, angled down to the rail around the bend and had little left for the drive. NASSAU CIRCLE broke a step slow, lacked early speed, saved ground around the turn and failed to menace. RENO forwardly placed five deep up the backstretch, continued in the five path on the turn, eased in the lane and walked off. POOR CONNECTION became fractious in the gate, chased four deep between rivals early on, took the turn four wide and tired.
