KINGMEISTER showed brief speed between rivals then took a stalking position on the inside, came under a ride following behind UNION WAVE on the far turn, tipped outside DRUIDIC midstretch, dug in late and got up in the closing moments. DRUIDIC showed early foot four deep into the clubhouse turn then pressed from outside in the two path, kept the heat on UNION WAVE through the far turn, dueled from the three path turning for home, seized control in upper stretch, cleared briefly into the final sixteenth, came under threat from KINGMEISTER late and could not hold on. UNION WAVE fought with outer trio for early command the inched ahead on the clubhouse turn, showed the way under pressure from DRUIDIC, fought on even terms entering the lane, lost command shortly after, yielded outside the sixteenth pole and stayed on for third. ATOMIC DROP fought briefly for the lead three deep between rivals approaching the first turn, took a stalking position in the three path around the bend, remained three wide to the stretch and flattened in the late stages. QUALITY CAT sat off the pace outside a rival, ridden along between foes or in the two path on the far turn and could not make an impact. TRINIDAD reserved along the rail, crept closer up the backstretch, lost ground on the far turn and weakened in the lane. MAJOR TOM dropped off the pace four then three wide early, chased three deep on the second bend, came four wide into the lane and was never a factor.
