Chart notes
TOP RECRUIT stalked the pace through the turn to be in striking distance turning for home, idled in upper stretch failing to gain, found best stride late splitting rivals in the final sixteenth to be along in time under confident handling. OUTHUSTLE prompted the pace to midway on the turn, rallied four wide to loom at the eighth pole and finished willingly while outkicked by the winner. SPAN OF CONTROL tracked the pace from the rear into the turn, made a steady advance commencing on the bend, angled to the clear in upper stretch to be prominent and was unable to pass late in the lane. CATCH ON EMOTIONAL set the pace on a clear lead, responded when called upon turning for home and weakened late in the drive. THE CONNECTOR was one-paced never posing a threat.
