Chart notes
EUCLID AVENUE , taken to rate early off a contested pace, quickly gained three wide leaving the five eighths, moved up and joined the leader with a half mile remaining, dueled, shook clear under a drive leaving the three sixteenths, drifted out while increasing his advantage in deep stretch then held firm. LAVENDER EARL hopped at the break but did not really give up any ground, was taken in hand to race off the pace into and around the first turn, commenced a run off the rail while within himself past the five eighths, circled five wide with pursuit into the stretch, kept on willingly but had to settle for the place. ST. LOUIE LOUIE vied along the rail into and around the first turn, rated back off the leader near the five eighths, chased while saving ground leaving the far turn, came back out for the drive and offered a mild late response. DEVILS RED vied outside ST. LOUIE LOUIE through the opening five sixteenths, shook clear then dropped inside, met an outside bid from the winner with a half mile to go, stayed on to dispute the issue to the head of the lane then weakened. WICKED SUPRISE was sent from the gate, gave early early, faltered leaving the far turn and was eased through the final furlong.
