Chart notes
MR. PAPAGIORGIO moved out early then stalked the pace on the outside, vied in the two to three path on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, took over in the four path under a strong hand-ride into upper stretch, was put to a right-handed crop when challenged by the runner-up outside the eighth-pole, responded well in the final furlong and held under strong urging. HOULTON settled at the rear, shifted from the two path to the three path about midway through the turn, was roused while moving to the four path nearing the five-sixteenths pole, gained in the five path into upper stretch then made a bid outside of the winner, battled outside that foe in the final furlong and missed while well clear for the place. BIG GAIN moved up with six furlongs to run then was well placed just off the pace, came under urging leaving the backstretch, chased inside on the turn, was driven into upper stretch in the two path, drifted out some near the furlong marker and weakened but just earned the show. RAGAZZO DIABOLICO was hustled to the front then showed the way, vied inside to the two path while asked on the turn, lost the advantage to the winner into upper stretch and tired. OMEY ISLAND was rated on the outside, came under urging in the three to four path early on the turn, moved to the five path before the five-sixteenths pole, dropped back in the six path into upper stretch and had nothing left.
