DARK MAGIC established a forward position early, moved in outside the three-quarter pole then was rated just off the pace, went around the turn in the two path while let out some, was roused at the quarter-pole then chased under a drive in upper stretch, gained to make a bid outside the furlong marker, took the lead just inside that marker, battled with multiple foes into the final sixteenth and prevailed under strong urging. KINGS AND QUEENS settled off the early pace, took an awkward stride approaching the three-quarter pole then was placed under restraint, angled from the inside to the five path while roused on the turn, rallied outside to make a bid near the eighth-pole, fought outside of multiple foes into the final sixteenth and missed while able to get the place. OMAHA PISTOL was bumped at the start then went to the front, moved in outside the three-quarter pole while showing the way, dropped from the two path to the rail early on the turn, was asked late on that bend, came under a drive in upper stretch, led into the final furlong then was overtaken while able to get the show. GORZO broke out and bumped with a foe, stalked the pace on the outside, was asked late on the backstretch, chased in the three path on the turn, made a bid near the quarter-pole, battled under a drive while remaining on his inside lead into the final furlong, fought on until near the sixteenth-pole, moved out late and was outfinished while continuing on his inside lead to the wire. RUNAMOR bumped with a rival at the start, settled off the pace, moved closer with six furlongs to run, steadied briefly while in tight near the five-eighths pole, was roused in the four path on the turn, chased while remaining on his inside lead in the drive and weakened. DAYTONA MOONSHINE settled on the outside, was roused in the five path on the turn, dropped to the four path late on that bend and failed to rally. MONOMOYS PARTNER had a shoe repaired in the paddock, broke out and hit the gate, bumped with rivals on both sides then was pinched back, lugged out badly at the rear in the early going and dropped well behind the rest of the field, moved from the five path to the three path early on the turn, shifted to the four path outside the quarter-pole and was no factor. PISTOL HIP SAM bumped with a rival after the start then was sent hard, moved out inside the three-quarter pole, raced towards the rear under urging, dropped from the two path to the rail on the turn and faltered.
