PIERRE was in the third flight relaxing between rivals down the backside, pulled the rider closer to the lead at the half, moved quickly to the leader when releasing the brakes at the three furlong pole, dueled outside from the quarter pole to the wire and finally got the better of a stubbornly inside rival in deep stretch staying persistent to inch away for the win at the finish line. UNBRIDLED WEATHER was forced in by the outside foe on the break, set the pace just off the rail in the first turn, continued up top down the backside, was headed outside by the eventual winner at the five sixteenths pole, slugged it out never giving way inside through mid-stretch, edged away actually at the sixteenth pole but was denied in the late stages when the winner came back on for the win in the final few jumps. HUMBER RIVER travelled three deep on the outside in mid-pack, started to make a move ranging up four wide on the outside with three eighths to go, took closer order through the final turn, drifted out slightly five wide turning for home, continued to wander out under left handed asking at the eighth pole impeding the outside rivals and still willingly kept on closing on the leaders late but had to settle for the show money in the end. MALDINI broke out to start, was taken a hold off when coming up on runners at the back of the pack into the first turn, co-trailed on the inside down the backstretch, started to mount a rally going with an outside rival at the three furlong pole, angled out widest in the seven path turning for home having a clear lane, had to be checked at the furlong pole, still found his best stride late down the stretch and closed in well to be a fringe player at the finish line. BOWMAN'S RUN broke in at the start, stalked near the rear in the beginning, closed the gap along the backside between foes, just started to commence a rally like many rivals were doing at the three eighths pole between horses in the three path but was in tight clipping heels on the far turn, resurged when darting in from the five path in upper stretch to be three wide at the furlong pole but could not continue the run and stalled between runners in the final seventy yards. LONNY'S GAMBLE settled on the rail in midfield for the early part of this route race, had no room trying to skim the fence at the three furlong pole attempting to make a move, had to be checked inside, briefly backed away on the far turn, shifted out five wide but could not find a seam in upper stretch, shifted to the four path at the furlong marker having a clear run but could only finish up mildly between horses in deep stretch. ADAPTED was in a good spot on the outside under a snug hold watching the frontrunner, could not quicken with the winner at the three eighths pole who was circling around rivals, tried to fight back inside around the last turn but had little left for the stretch run and faltered on the rail in the last sixteenth of a mile. DADDY HAS DIAMONDS was squeezed on the break to co-trail outside going four wide on the first turn, started to make a sharp move circling outside three wide at the three eighths pole, shifted out in the six path in the mix for a share at the top of the lane, had to be steadied when the inside runner drifted out at the furlong pole losing all his momentum and could not recover to factor in the late stages. COMMANDER WORSLEY drafted behind the pacesetter in the early parts of the race, was scrubbed on to keep position inside at the three eighths pole but was overtaken by outside runners commencing a run through the turn and lacked a rally inside in the two path down the stretch. RIDERS CLAIM OF FOUL AND STEWARDS INQUIRY #8 BOWMANS RUN AGAINST #12 HUMBER RIVER ON THE FAR TURN IN THE VICINTY OF THE THREE FURLONG POLE WAS DISALLOWED.
