Chart notes
BOLD RIPASSO broke a step slow on the break to trail on the first turn, ranged up smartly three deep down the backside, lost momentum for a stride or two leaving the half mile marker, advanced three wide moving strong around the last bend to be in the thick of things in the four path turning for home and determinedly wore down the inside rivals to get up just before the finish line for the hard fought win. KEYTOTHEPARK was in hand quite content to watch the loose frontrunner in the early stages, cruised past taking command outside at the three-furlong pole, burst clear opening up in the two path at the top of the stretch, drifted out under left-handed encouragement clinging to the front in the final sixteenth but lost the nod at the wire by the late running winner. TOP OF D MOUNTAIN stalked close to the back on the inside, co-trailed on the fence midway down the backside, kept pace with the leaders midway around the final bend, shifted off the rail with a quarter mile from home starting to uncork a rally and was surging late while in the five path down the lane, got up for the show award in deep stretch but could not get to the lead pair in time. SERENADING KITTEN rated kindly while all alone keeping a close eye on the lead two on the first turn, inched up two path while going with the eventual winner who was on the outside around the far turn, shifted three wide fighting stubbornly between horses in upper stretch, was in tight battling tooth and nail for the lead in the late stages and had to be checked nearing the wire to settle on the fringes in the end. WHAT A COMPLEX travelled in mid-division on the outside, dropped back slightly to co-trail with rivals on either side at the half, made little headway on the far turn, shifted out six wide for the drive but could not factor driving to the wire. JUST LIKE THAT assumed command inside rivals in the first of two turns, continued up top setting an even pace down the backside, was collared having no answer for the outside foe at the three eighths pole and folded on the fence in the stretch.
