Chart notes
KENTUCKY GHOST stalked the runaway pacesetter down the backside, rallied on the far turn gradually cutting into the advantage circling five wide, took command from the tiring leader at the top of the lane, lugged in from the five path to the three path inspite of left-handed crop reminders at the eighth pole impeding GREY CHARMER, was straightened away to finish well and prevail. MR TITO'S reserved off the pace dor the first five-eighths racing near the rear of the pace, rallied on the final turn along the rail saving ground, cut the corner turning for home and finished well up the fence in the stretch. GREY CHARMER unhurried for a half to trail, rallied with a steady advance three wide on the far turn, made a bid from between rivals in upper stretch, steadied midway down the lane when the winner lugged in severely into his path and finished evenly having lost all momentum. JOE PHILLIPS sped off to a wide advantage for the first five furlongs while racing in the seven path, angled in to the three path on the final turn and gave way at the quarter pole. POET OF LIFE (IRE) raced in contention down the backside and came up empty entering the final turn. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN AND THE RIDER OF GREY CHARMER CLAIMED FOUL FOR INTERFERENCE NEAR THE EIGHTH POLE BY THE WINNER, UPON REVIEW THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED THE WINNER AND PLACED HIM THIRD.
