Chart notes
STARSHIP EMPIRE reserved off the pace for a half, gained ground into the turn, rallied in an early drive on the bend, waited when held up on the turn lacking racing room, regained momentum in upper stretch, worked way to clear in mid-stretch through traffic and surged late in the drive to be going away as much best. CASHIER CHECK set a pressured pace dueling on a wide lead for the first three-quarters, kicked away from the presser on the far turn, dug-in responding willingly in the lane and was caught late in the drive to be second best. THE DOORMAN stalked the pace from afar down the backside, steadily gained ground narrowing the advantage turning for home to loom in upper stretch four wide and failed to gain on the pacesetter while being outfinished by the winner. BRUMBA WAFFLE TOES unhurried early to be the trailer through the first turn, steadily gained on the leaders, rallied to prominence midway down the lane and finished evenly unable to sustain the bid. CASTAGNO raced wide the entire way and showed some late interest in the stretch without impact. VAN chased the leaders down the bakside and faded coming home. I LUCKED OUT pressed the pace for five-eighths and gave way on the far turn.
