Chart notes
OSCARSSON set the early pace into the first turn, settled to stalk the pacesetter down the backside, rallied three wide turning for home to take the lead in mid-stretch, dug-in gamely in the final eighth and held his share of the victory. NEW BERN tracked the leaders down the backside while angling to the inside of the trailing trio, saved ground through the far turn while losing postion and rmounted a strong rally down the lane hugging the rail to be just up for the tie. TIZ LUCKY pulled fro mthree wide entering the backside to prompt the pacesetter, took the lead on the far turn, battled in upper stretch and was outkicked late in the drive. COLONEL POPPY taken in hand to be at the rear early, moved to striking distance from four wide down the backstretch, rallied on the turn threatening from the five path turning for home and flattened out unable to sustain the bid. PARTNER TOURS was kciked pre-race when rival to his inside reared up thrashing about, was unloaded from the gate and examined by the track vetrinarian and deemed unharmed, broke well racing near the rear of the field, moved up between horses down the backside, and lacked a response when called upon going evenly. THIRD CITY set the pace under mild pressure for a half, had no answer when challenged on the far turn and faded to the rear in the lane.
