Chart notes
RONNIS SECOND WIND made the lead soon after the start, set all the pace, was shaken up a bit near the furlong marker and widened at will to win as his rider pleased. STRIKE PLATE trailed outside early, rallied into the stretch three wide and finished second best. SMOKIN JOE with the second flight inside, angled out three wide entering the turn taking away the path of AKIMBO then had a mild late rally for a minor share. PROFESSOR NICK chased the winner two wide into the stretch then faded. SILENT DRILL offered a mild bid inside rivals nearing the quarter pole then failed to sustain that bid. AKIMBO stalked the early pace three wide, was shut off entering the turn then in tight nearing the quarter pole then dropped out of it. THE RIDER OF AKIMBO LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST THE RIDER OF SMOKIN JOE FOR INTERFERENCE AT THE THREE EIGHTHS POLE. AFTER REVIEW THE STEWARDS DISQUALIFIED SMOKIN JOE AND PLACED HIM SIXTH.
