Chart notes
EVE OF EVE broke well but backed out of a potential pace battle, angled to the rail then raced close up through the turn, was full of run when forced t wait for room until late on the turn, found a seam in upper stretch, went to the lead but was taken on by GOOD BY FAITH, dueled that rival to the wire, edged ahead late and just held in a game effort. GOOD BY FAITH chased well off the pace down the backstretch then rallied from the seven-sixteenths marker, bid four wide at the top of the stretch and dueled gamely with EVE OF EVE to the finish but could not get by. CLASSY MIMI broke awkwardly, took up then dropped far back early, then rallied five wide into the stretch, was gradually getting to the top pair but came up a head short. ROSALINA got bumped at the start by the inside rival, pressed the pace three wide, then dueled AT FIRST LIGHT through the turn, put a head in front past the five-sixteenths marker, then tried in vain to hold off a trio of challengers in the stretch but was outfinished. LA PALABRA broke out into ROSALINA at the start, briefly vied between horses for the early lead, then pulled back, re-bid for the lead late on the turn, then weakened in the stretch. AT FIRST LIGHT broke well, gained the early advantage, led the way through the turn, gave way at the quarter pole and had nothing left for the stretch run. RED ZONE ducked in after the break, jumped the temporary rail and lost the rider, was corralled by the outride and walked off. THERE WAS A STEWARDS REVIEW OF THE START. NO ACTION WAS TAKEN AS IT WAS DETERMINED THAT #1 RED ZONE CAUSED ITS OWN PROBLEM.
