DEVILNTHEBLUEGRAS bobbled slightly at the start, settled inside, moved out on the backstretchh, gained three, four, then five wide on the far turn, challenged in upper stretch, dueled outside HAVOC in the final furlong and dug in gamely to edge the runner-up. HAVOC stalked in the three path, chased two wide into the far turn, angled out and bid four wide inot the lane, took over in upper stretch, dueled with DEVILNTHEBLUEGRAS in the furlong grounds and finished gamely in defeat. SUPERMAX traveled three deep around the first turn, had one beat in the two path going into the far turn, spun four wide into the lane, came with a late run but ran out of ground. LITTLEBROTHERJOEY forwardly placed in the two path early, fell out of range on the backstretch, drew closer while easing over to the four path on the far turn, chased within striking distance down the lane but could not summon the needed late kick. GAVEA settled off the pace while angling from the three path to the rail, drew closer up the backstretch, continued to save ground on the far turn, also raced within striking distance in the late stages but finished evenly. SUNSET STORM showed the way early from inside, led clear to the five-sixteenths pole, confronted by outer rival while in the three path coming into the lane, lost command in upper stretch, stayed on into the final furlong and flattened late. AMERICAN EMPIRE raced between foes then ouside a rival on the first turn at the back, continued off the pace in the middle stages, rounded the far turn in the four path, moved in a bit entering the lane and failed to menace. MISCHIEF'S THIRSTY traveled four deep at the back on the clubhouse turn, moved inside trailing in the middle stages, saved ground to the stretch, eased in the lane and walked off.
