Chart notes
TONY SMALL well placed stalking the leader from the fence to midway on the far turn, was niggled upon midway around the bend, tipped out three wide in a full drive when straightening away and finished well to overtake the pacesetter in the final sixteenth. MARSAC set a well rated pace under mild pressure for the first five-eighths, responded when called upon leaving the five-sixteenths pole to be clear and dug-in willingly in the lane to be second best while unable to hold off the winner late. ROUND OF APPLAUSE was reserved to be a the rear of the field for the first half, comenced a bid on the far turn and mounted a steady, grinding advance in the lane to be along for the show. DUEL FUEL prompted the pace to the final bend, failed to gain on the pacesetter in the turn and weakened in the stretch. SUMMERFEST tracked the pace onto the backstretch and steadily dropped to the rear of the field by the far turn.
