THOMPSON settled off the early pace while racing four wide through the stretch the first time, bided his time well off the leaders in the run down the backstretch, launched his bid three wide entering the final turn, split rivals two wide entering the lane, and closed determinedly one out from the rail in the lane to get up in time. VECTOR away well and raced to the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, controlled the pace through the second turn and in the run down the backside, continued to save ground through the final turn, and finished from along the rail in the drive and just failed to last. SLOOP JOHN B broke sharply and tracked the leader into the stretch the first time while racing two out from the rail, maintained his tracking trip in the run down the backside and into the final turn, continued three wide through the final turn, and finished two out from the rail in the drive to hold on for a share. TRINIDAD checked slightly while in tight quarters at the rail entering the first turn, but saved ground through the turn to gain a stalking trip at the rail entering the stretch the first time, maintained his position in the run down the backstretch, rallied along the inside through the final turn, and finished from along the rail in the drive. KEEP IT COMING unhurried early and trailed the field into the stretch the first time, continued to bide his time at the back of the pack entering the backside, commenced his bid three wide entering the final turn, and finished evenly two out from the rail in the drive. PRINCE CAIRO settled off the early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the lane the first time while racing mid pack, raced two wide in the run down the backstretch, saved ground into the final turn, but failed to mount a serious late bid when called upon.
