DIVINE EMPIRE chased the leader through the first turn, went up to apply pressure under a strong hold before a half mile, made the lead past the quarter pole and drew off late under mild urging. BREEZE THE BAYOU broke well and quickly opened a daylight lead, repelled pressure from the winner along the inside for six furlongs then was no match and finished second best.
