Chart notes
ICE AXE was wellback in the two path early, driven in the three path around the turn, rallied between foes down the lane, took command passing the sixteenth pole, and edged clear. ANCIENT MAN trailed in the three path, was roused in the two path midway around the turn, swung out to the six path entering the stretch, and improved while drifting in for place. MALIGATOR chased in the five path, floated out to the eight path turning into the lane, bid passing the eighth pole, and kept on, but was out-finished by an inner pair. TALLAPOOSA was reluctant to load, stalked in the two path, was driven from the rail around the turn, stayed on in the two path down the stretch, but weakened in the final sixteenth. CHAMPAGNE MIKE tracked inside, lost ground around the turn, improved from the rail in upper stretch, but weakened in the final furlong. LATE BLACKSMITH pressed in the four path but yielded in the five path in the final furlong. CAN MAN DO set the pace in the three path, stayed on while drifting out down the lane, but gave way in the final furlong. SON OF GRACE raced off the pace in the four path but tried to drift out around the turn and yielded.
