Chart notes
DANEFIELD pressed the pace from the inside into the turn, tipped out rallying between horses three wide on the bend, took a short lead in upper stretch, bore-in under right-handed urging to impede BEACH HOLIDAY in mid-stretch and finished well to kick clear late in the lane. EXTRA MEDIUM reserved off the pace down the backstretch, ralied five wide circling the field to loom in mid-stretch and finished willingly to hold the place. BEACH HOLIDAY unhurried to be the trailer into the turn, closed the gap on the turn, followed the winner in the three path at the quarter pole splitting rivals, angled inside DANEFIELD to the two path in upper stretch, was crowded to the rail by the winner eventually having to steady near the eighth pole and finished evenly having lost all momementum. HUNTIN' THE RUT stalked the pace from four wide, rallied to threaten on the turn and flattened out coming home unable to sustain the bid. LORD OF LEGENDS set a pressured pace to the quarter pole and gave way turning for home. THE STEWARDS POSTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN AND UPON REVIEW DISQUALIFIED THE WINNER PLACING HIM THIRD.
