Chart notes
LAW OF THE JUNGLE vied for the lead along the rail through the far turn, altered course to the six path at the top of the stretch, closed rapidly while drifting inward to the three path and got up in the final stride. STRIKE APPEAL never far back, rallied three wide through the second bend to engage the leader entering the stretch, bumped with that one, matched strides to the wire and just missed in a game effort. ROUNDBALL ROCK alternated in pressing and setting the pace into the far turn, took command, bumped at the top of the stretch, dueled along the rail to the wire and was outfinished by a narrow margin. VERBIER pressed the pace two wide into the far turn, kept on to the wire but was outfinished. STAR ENTERTAINER failed to menace. MAGICAL MONARCH alternated in setting and pressing the pace for six furlongs then was used up. SOUTH STREET trailed. THE STEWARDS POSTED THE INQUIRY SIGN BUT TOOK NO ACTION.
