Chart notes
HORSEPOWER tracked the pace from the rail into the turn, raced in striking position through the bend patiently along the fence, cut the corner turning for home and rushed up the open rail to engage the leader at the eighth pole, determinedly fought through a narrowed gap along the inside and pulled away in the final yards. NOBALS set the pace while well in hand to the five-sixteenths pole, responded when PONCE DE LEON mounted a bid nearing the quarter pole kicking away from that one, floated out turning for home to the three path opening the rail, dug-in when challenged in mid-stretch drifting inward to narrow the hole along the fence and could not hold off the winner in a good effort as second best. PONCE DE LEON prompted the pace to midway on the turn, rallied four wide to threaten nearing the quarter pole, was unable to pass the pacesetter and ran-on through the lane to hold the show. MY BUDDY B stalked the pace from four wide to be in range turning for home and lacked a closing rally. GOING UP bucked at the start giving the field a head start, was awkward until settling into stride, closed the gap and finished evenly having lost all chance at the start. GOODIE GOOMER chased throughout and faded to the back of the field.
