Chart notes
EL ALACRAN pressed the issue three deep down the backside, moved in outside to duel with the leader into the turn, poked his head in front between foes leaving the three furlong marker, battled inside down the entire stretch, was tenacious on the rail to the wire and inched away for the win when crossing the finish line. GLASWEIGIAN patiently watched the front three early on under a good hold outside, settled into a good rhythm tracking the engaged pair on the bend, moved up to pressure the pace three wide midturn, dueled outside down the stretch bobbing heads for the lead, determinedly gave it all to the wire but was denied in a photo finish. DROP YOUR GLOVES had rail position in the third tier after the start, was travelling comfortably waiting for the cue to go on the turn, shifted out with five sixteenths to go reaching for more ground, had aim on the embattled duo five wide in upper stretch, was gaining steadily down the lane but could not get to the front pair in time. LUMBERYARD stalked near the rear along the back straight, closed the gap smartly trying to circle four wide around runners at the three furlong pole, swung out widest in the six path at the top of the lane and finished up evenly to be a fringe player at the finish line. ARAMI'S SPEIGHSTER vied between horses early down the backside, dropped back at the five-furlong pole tracking the contesting duo while inside another rival, waited behind the lead trio in midturn, shifted out three wide behind foes at the quarter pole but had no rally to offer in the late stages of the race. TIGER TOWN had a slim lead on the inside in the beginning, was moving well in hand head-to-head on the rail up front around the turn, had more company outside while clinging onto the lead with three eighths to go, had little left for the drive and wilted on the fence in upper stretch. HEAT was sluggish out of the gate, lagged behind the field down the backside, lost touch on the field through the running around the bend and galloped down the lane crossing the finish line.
