Chart notes
CATALINA CAT bore in bumping MISTER ROSSO leaving the starting gate, stalked the pace down the backstretch, gained a three wide lead near the five sixteenths pole, quickly opened up and was under pressure in the drive. DOC B , pinched back by MISTER ROSSO leaving the starting gate, circled the first turn four wide, rushed up to sprint clear near the five eighths pole, was overtaken on the far turn, swung out in upper stretch and gamely came again. MISTER ROSSO , forced in when bumped leaving the starting gate, came into the stretch three wide and weakened. UNCLE TUFFY , rated early, was briefly steadied in close quarters along the inner rail entering the far turn, swung wide in upper stretch and was no factor. MAGIC FACTOR , clear leaving the first turn, gave way on the far turn.
