Chart notes

GENERAL THAYER was off a step slow then hustled hard to get the lead into the first turn, held a short lead into the last turn racing two off the rail allowing FORDY G to mount a challenge up the rail, dug in under that threat to keep that foe at bay turning into the stretch was fully extended to hold on at the wire. FORDY G hustled from the start, gained the inside position in the group tracking GENERAL THAYER loose on the lead, slipped through along the rail on the far turn to put pressure on that rival, then dueled gamely to the finish but could not get by. MYSTIC WOOD FORCE saved ground throughout, made a late run at the top two, was closing the margin, but came up short. AIN'T NO SISSY raced three-wide with the tracking group and was mildly gaining in the final yards. TOO TALL TO CALL was sent hard to get forward position, chased three wide while always under a drive and lacked a finishing kick. WITHEE was last into the first turn, saved ground throughout while never posing a serious threat. SPEEDY TOM raced three wide throughout, near the back of the pack, and lacked a rally. THE JOCKEY ON #1 MYSTIC WOOD FORCE LODGED A CLAIM OF FOUL AGAINST #2 FORDY G ALLEGING INTERFERENCE. AFTER A REVIEW THE CLAIM WAS DISALLOWED.
