LUTE'S DIAMOND settled inside behind the pacesetter, backed off a tight spot at the finish line the first time around, was set down with a quarter mile to go, produced a steady finish, and got up in the last jump. GOOD JOB JACKIE came away best and went two lengths clear early, rebuffed an early bid from FANTASTIC SECRET passing the stands for the first time, then re-established command down the backstretch the second time, came under a ride late on the last turn, started to shorten strides in the final yards and failed to last. VISION OF THE KAT got carried three wide through the first turn and dropped well off the pace along with SASSY EINSTEIN, made a mild late bid three wide on the last bend to gain the third spot well behind the top pair. SASSY EINSTEIN was outrun and trailed the field inside of VISION OF THE KAT until the last turn, made a mild late bid with that rival then was outfinished for the third spot. FANTASTIC SECRET was pushed from the start to get forward position, tracked two wide through the first bend, pressed to lead near the finish line the first time then came under a ride turning down the backstretch the second pass and was uninvolved the rest of the way.
