CURLIN ROCKS away well and stalked the leader into the stretch the first time while racing one out from the rail, moved up to press the pacesetter two wide entering the second turn, continued to force the issue two wide in the run down the backside and through the final turn, took a narrow advantage into the lane, and inched clear in the drive. OVERLY FAST tracked the leaders into the second turn while racing two out from the rail, maintained his position in the run down the backside, commenced his bid two wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly three wide in the drive to get the place. EXTRA INNINGS broke through the gate prior to the start, but was away alertly and rushed to a clear lead entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of CURLIN ROCKS through the second turn and in the run down the backstretch, continued that battle through the final turn, struggled to keep tabs on his pace rival entering the lane, but finished willingly from along the rail in the drive to garner a share. BRIAN'S DE LEIGHT broke sharply and tracked the leaders from just off the rail in the run to the second turn while a bit rank, held his position in the run down the backside, rallied one out from the rail through the final turn, but was unable to improve his position late while finishing two wide in the drive. BUCK'S FIZZ settled off the early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the stretch the first time, held his position in the run down the backstretch and into the final turn, and finished five wide in the drive in an even effort. TIME TICKER unhurried early while trailing the field into the stretch the first time while saving ground at the rail, continued to save ground throughout, but lacked the needed closing response when called upon.
