TWISTED FILIGREE bumped with a rival at the start, set the pace under pressure to his outside, vied inside to the two path on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole then came under a right-handed crop, dueled inside of the runner-up in the stretch, fought hard under a strong hand-ride in the final furlong and gamely prevailed. STEP FORWARD pressed the pace on the outside, vied in the two to three path on the turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, dueled outside of the winner in the stretch, fought gamely under a right-handed crop in the final furlong and was denied while just able to get the place. FINAL VERDICT settled on the outside, went around the turn in the three to four path, was roused near the quarter-pole, chased the top two with good courage into the final sixteenth, gained to make a bid late but missed while able to get the show. JUDGE DAVIS settled at the rear, moved from the two path to the four path early on the turn, shifted to the six path late on that bend, was roused near the quarter-pole, spun into the stretch in the six path and improved with late energy for the last spot in the superfecta. TIDAL FORCES settled towards the back on the inside, saved ground on the turn, was roused near the quarter-pole then came under a drive in upper stretch and lacked the needed kick. VINSANITY was urged along on the outside, traveled around the turn in the four path, turned into the stretch in the five path, raced under a drive into the final furlong, drifted in late and failed to rally.
