Chart notes
CREED'S GOLD emerged from the tightly bunched group to have a slim advantage into the backstretch, moved well in hand while hounded outside for the lead through the turn, spurted away one the fence when nudged for run turning for home and had more in the deep stretch to win comfortably when crossing the finish line. TICKER TAPE HOME was a step slow to co-trail outside on the break, pulled the rider up forward to draft behind the leader under a snug hold at the half, was poised measuring the contesting pair around the turn, shifted outside making a move at the quarter pole, loomed in the four path in upper stretch but chased the winner in vain to the wire settling on the runners up share in the end. NICE AS PIE had a slow start to co-trail on the fence in the beginning, was in tight on the rail having to check at the half mile marker, advanced smartly on the fence midway around the bend, skimmed the rail in the mix at the top of the lane, dueled for the place share inside briefly with a furlong to go but had to settle for a clear third at the finish line. MS. TART travelled three deep while watching the front two contest the pace up front, came under a ride trying to hold position going three wide on the outside through the turn, angled out slightly to be four wide at the top of the lane and ran on up willingly in deep stretch for a minor placing at the finish line. GAL IN A RUSH was unhurried outside seeing the field along the back straight, still lagged behind through the turn, shifted out four wide at the quarter pole trying to mount a rally and in the six path down the stretch lacked a rally in the final furlong outside horses. LITHE SPIRIT had an outside stalking trip near the rear down the backstretch, was going in the wrong direction in the two path being passed outside at the quarter pole, angled out in the five path for the drive to the wire and did show some interest to pass weary foes outside in the last furlong. ECSTASY settled in the second flight between horses while tracking the lead duo early on, was scrubbed on for more run but was being passed on both sides midway around the bend, shifted to the three path for the stretch drive but had no finish to offer. RUN FOR THE HILLS prompted the pace outside in the early going, continued to apply pressure outside of the frontrunner around the bend, could not match strides with the winner while three wide turning for home and folded between rivals in the last eighth of a mile.
