BETTERING , three deep around the turn, gained the lead and went clear in upper stretch, was challenged in mid stretch, dug in and held sway. LAST ROO , nicely rated behind horses down the backstretch, eased outside entering the turn, advanced to challenge the winner in mid stretch and finished gamely. IMPROBABLE STORY , sent early, chased the pace along the inner rail, failed to keep up on the turn, angled out in upper stretch and passed tired foes. SHIPSHAPE sped to the early lead, saved ground on the turn and weakened through the stretch. THISPOINTINTIME prompted the pace outside SHIPSHAPE and gave way.
