STRAIT OF GEORGIA broke sharply and tracked the dueling leaders through the stretch the first time while racing just out from the rail, maintained his position in the run down the backside, collared the leader three wide entering the final turn, took the narrowest of advantages into the lane, and quickly opened a clear lead and was never seriously threatened late. PAY MY WAY unhurried early while dropping back to trail, launched his bid from the back of the pack while saving ground entering the final turn, tipped four wide into the lane, and closed willingly four wide in the drive to prove easily second best. VECTOR away alertly and dueled for the lead from the outside of BUTTONWOOD TREE through the stretch the first time, continued to force the issue two wide in the run down the backstretch, rallied from between rivals through the final turn while in tight quarters, steadied slightly entering the lane and finished two wide in the drive to garner a share. BUTTONWOOD TREE away well and vied for the lead from the inside of VECTOR entering the lane the first time, set a pressured pace from along the rail in the run down the backstretch and through the final turn, steadied slightly while pinballed at the rail leaving the turn, and finished from along the inside in the drive. DUPLICATION settled well off the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail through the stretch the first time, held his position in the run down the backside, rallied three wide entering the final turn, but failed to make a late impact when called upon. Following the running of this race there was both a steward's inquiry, as well as a jockey's claim of foul into an incident leaving the final turn. The rider of VECTOR lodged a claim of foul against the rider of STRAIT OF GEORGIA. After review, the jockey's claim of foul was dismissed, but following the steward's review, VECTOR was disquallified from third and placed fourth for causing interference to BUTTONWOOD TREE.
