MADELINE'S PROMISE showed the way narrowly four then three wide down the backstretch under some pressure from ALWAYS PRACTICAL to the inside, tucked to the two path near the half mile pole and had that rival advance inside and dueled through the turn patiently handled until set down spinning five wide into upper stretch, dug in shaking off her main pace rival inside the final furlong, switched leads when growing a bit leg weary and lugged inside the final sixteenth and was overhauled in the final jumps to the wire. ALWAYS PRACTICAL bobbled at the break, prompted the leader from just off the inside, tucked to the inside into the turn and advanced to engage in head to head combat with the aforementioned foe patiently handled until roused spinning three to four wide for home, dug in latched on to the eighth pole, then weakened in the late stages while along clear for the show honors. ANOTHER CLEESHAY chased five then four wide down the backstretch before tucking three wide into the turn, came under urging with five-sixteenths to go, swung six wide into upper stretch and weakened in the late going. LADY ORIENT coaxed from the start, chased six then five paths off the inside down the backstretch before tucking four wide into the turn, got ridden along at the seven-sixteenths, went seven wide into upper stretch and weakened. RAGTIME SIZZLE broke in a step at the start, chased three then two wide under prolonged encouragement from the half mile pole, angled four wide at the top of the stretch and tired.
