Chart notes
RICH GOLD was off a step slow, then moved up along the outside to be prominently placed while racing three-wide, caught SMILING GOODBYE at the eighth pole then dueled with that one to the wire and prevailed narrowly. SMILING GOODBYE saved ground setting the pace, responded when challenged by RICH GOLD nearing the eighth pole and held on gamely to lose a tough decision. CHIEF WILD EAGLE tracked the pace racing along the inside, steadied slightly in tight leaving the eighth pole then came again when clear to be gaining slightly late. MANGIA PANE raced in the back of the field early, came five-wide into the stretch and rallied late. I'M NOBLE settled in the middle of the field racing three-wide, came four-wide into the stretch but lacked a rally. QUALITY CAT was off a step slow then allowed to settle, came five-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. BEAU MISCHIEF was four-wide on the the first turn while prompting the early pace and tired. MASHHAD FLATS saved ground while being allowed to settle and was not a factor.
