STARS AND STRIPES bumped with a rival early, raced in the three then four path on the first turn, settled on the outside, was roused in the three to four path on the far turn, rallied late on that bend, closed strongly in the five path into the stretch, gained the lead near the three-sixteenths pole then kicked clear, was given one pop of a right-handed crop at the furlong marker, switched to a left-handed crop and was given one pop while drawing away at the sixteenth-pole and proved much the best while placed under a strong hand-ride to the finish. ROCKETEER went straight to the front then opened up a clear advantage early, leapt in the air near the one-mile marker then was taken up some upon landing, showed the way in the two path, extended the advantage early on the far turn, shortened stride into the stretch, lost the advantage to the winner near the three-sixteenths pole and weakened while proving no match but held the place. TRACKING ERROR was hustled from the gate, brushed with a foe early, dropped well behind while moving from the three path to the rail on the first turn, lagged at the rear, was urged along while moving from the inside to the four path on the far turn, gained in the six path into the stretch and improved for the show. WAITLIST settled on the inside in the second flight, was urged along late on the backstretch, chased inside on the far turn, moved out in upper stretch and came up empty. LORDSHIP broke in at the start, rounded the first turn in the three path, settled on the outside, was roused near the seven-sixteenths pole, moved from the three path to the two path while dropping back on the far turn and capitulated. LEFTEMBEHIND bumped with the winner early, brushed with another foe before the first turn, settled in the two to three path, was roused near the five-sixteenths pole, spun into the stretch in the five path under the crop and also came up empty.
