FROSTED BULL was bumped at the start, tracked the pace, tracked on the turn, was floated wide turning for home, could not stay with MIKE'S MAGIC, then inherited the lead from that rival in midstretch and dug in late to hold on. HELLACIOUS was bumped at the start, stalked outside a rival, chased on the turn, angled out in the stretch, rallied in the final sixteenth and dug in to the finish. MIKE'S MAGIC broke outward, vied two wide for the lead, led on the turn, drifted wide passing the quarter pole, drew clear, then veered out sharply past the furlong marker, bucked and drifted to the outside rail, then dug in along the outer rail to the finish. DOMINICAN THUNDER vied inside for command, chased on the turn and weakened. DOMINICAN PIRATE raced off the pace, chased on the turn and failed to threaten. After a Stewards' Inquiry into the stretch run, the race was declared official.
