THIRTEEN COLONIES established a forward position early, raced in the three path on the first turn, stalked the pace on the outside, made a bid in the two path on the far turn, took the lead into upper stretch, led under a drive into the final furlong, was overtaken by the winner outside the sixteenth-pole and proved no match but held the place. PLENSA was hustled from the gate then brushed with a foe early, was taken up between horses nearing the first turn, raced in the two path on that bend, was reserved off the pace, traveled around most of the far turn in the two path then shifted to the three path, turned into the stretch in the five path and improved to get the show. WARLANDER raced in the three path on the first turn, was rated on the outside but with cover, went around the far turn in the three path, was given his cue near the five-sixteenths pole, spun into the stretch in the four path then moved further out and lacked the needed kick. FOND FAREWELL brushed with a rival early, dropped back while in tight between horses in the two path on the first turn, was reserved off the pace, saved ground while roused on the far turn, turned into the stretch in the two path while under the crop and lacked the needed response. ASBURY PARK (GB) had his head turned when adjusted by the assistant starter at the start, hit the inside of the gate and came away awkwardly at the rear, saved ground while unhurried at the tail-end of the field, shifted to the three path near the five-sixteenths pole, was roused outside the quarter-pole then shifted into the five path entering the stretch, moved further out in the drive and failed to threaten. BAKERS STREET was fractious in the gate, settled on the inside, was roused on the far turn and failed to rally. HANDS OF TIME bobbled shortly after the start, went to the front, rounded the first turn in the two path, showed the way down the backstretch, vied inside on the far turn, was asked near the quarter-pole, lost the advantage into upper stretch and gave way. KING OF ASHES settled towards the rear in the two to three path, was roused on the far turn, swung out to the six path into upper stretch and was no factor. STRATE CASH stumbled at the start, tossed his head between foes and was taken up early, went around the first turn in the four path, settled outside without cover, was roused in the four path on the far turn, spun into the stretch in the six path and failed to respond.
