Chart notes
HARPER CITY had a slim lead on the inside in the early stages, battled on the rail at the top of the lane just holding onto the lead, drifted out slightly driving to the wire leaving the eighth pole and prevailed for the win in the stretch duel. BANKER'S HOURS forced the issue on the outside down the back straight, continued to shadow the pacesetter outside around the bend, posed the main threat three wide at the top of the stretch, drifted inwards a touch when encouraged right-handed coming up to the furlong marker but was outkicked late being denied for the win at the wire. BLAME J D had an ideal spot, all alone watching the contesting twosome along the backside, was urged for more midway on the turn but could not make any gain on the embattle pair on the bend, shifted out three wide straightening for home, posed no threat to the front two who had it to themselves late but did find more in deep stretch to stubbornly hold on for the third money. ITS JUST MONEY had a slow beginning to trail down the back straight, shifted out at the five sixteenths pole starting to gather speed, swung out widest in the six path turning for home and finished up gradually gaining outside of rivals. COMMANDER AT SEA broke out then brushed the outside rival on the break, travelled inside another under a snug hold stalking the lead duo along the backside, made no movement inside horses around the turn, shifted out four wide between runners at the top of the stretch in the mix for a piece of the prize and finished up with good energy just missing the three way photo for the show award. CANTUCCI had a stalking role on the outside down the backside, made little headway in the third flight outside foes around the bend, angled to the five path for the drive to the wire but lacked a finish in the late stages.
