Chart notes
NU BLEND away alertly, but was allowed to settle off the contested early pace while saving ground at the rail entering the backstretch, launched her bid from along the rail entering the final turn, steadied repeatedly while in tight quarters at the rail midway through the turn, shifted two wide entering the lane, and closed smartly to win going away. BLUEBIRD CAFE rushed up along the rail to vie for the early pace from the inside of CAMPTOWN LADY entering the first turn, set a pressured pace in the run down the backstretch, disposed of her pace rival entering the final turn, but was softened up early and gave way grudgingly late. DUKE GIRLS away well and stalked the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail entering the backstretch, commenced her bid while looming a threat three wide entering the final turn, and finished determinedly four wide in the drive to garner a share. STILETTOS ONLY stumbled badly at the start, to get away poorly and trailed the field into the first turn, launched her bid four wide from the back of the pack entering the final turn, and closed with late interest five wide in the drive. EBONY EYES stalked the dueling leaders into the backside while racing one out from the rail, commenced her bid two wide entering the final turn, but needed more when called upon. CAMPTOWN LADY broke sharply and dueled for the lead from the outside of BLUEBIRD CAFE entering the first turn, continued to force the issue two wide in the run down the backside, was unable to match strides with her pace rival entering the final turn, and weakened over the final furlong. Following the running of this race the stewards conducted an inquiry into the start of the race. In particular to the actions of STILETTOS ONLY. After review it was deemed that the horse stumbled at the start, and no change was made to the original order of finish.
