L'ANTHARIS (FR) rounded the first turn in the two path, was reserved on the inside, moved closer late on the backstretch, saved ground on the final turn, was roused in the three path into the stretch and also failed to rally. STEADFAST RESOLVE was hustled from the gate, settled outside in the two to three path, moved closer near the half-mile pole, went around the final turn in the three then four path, spun into the stretch in the six path then bumped with a foe and failed to threaten. PAPIAMENTO went to the front, traveled around the opening bend in the two path, opened up a sizable advantage, raced inside for most of the second turn then came off the rail, shortened stride off the inside on the backstretch, lost the lead inside the half-mile pole and faded.
