Chart notes
MIDNIGHT MARY set an unchallenged early pace from the inside, drew off leaving the turn and was still well clear by the furlong marker but just lasted late to prevail under a drive. FLUFFY settled mid pack, came three wide on the turn, swung five wide off the bend and closed the gap to just miss. ARIEL MOON was settled off the pace split rivals at the three eights marker, advanced along the turn and finished well on the inside but was no match for the top two. ANY FOOLS GOLD settled back early was in the three path on the turn tipped out four to five wide nearing the furlong marker and made a late gain to receive the minor rewards. BAYTOWN BUTTERFLY was sent early for positioning then settled into stride while tracking the pace on the inside, hit the rail at the seven sixteenths marker and shifted out four to five wide in the lane but weakened in the stretch. DERBYTIME D tracked the winner from the outside but faded leaving the turn. MOONSHINING was settled early three wide on the turn and was never a threat. HOT BOSS was settled on the inside and faded steadily.
