Chart notes
THATWOULDBEWRONG chased the pace racing along the inside, slipped through entering the stretch, took the lead nearing the eighth pole and quickly drew clear. TIZ GRAZEN was forwardly placed racing three-wide, moved up to take the lead entering the stretch but was unable to resist the winner during the drive while proving to be second best. COLONEL HORTON was unhurried early, came four-wide into the stretch and rallied late. WHISKEYONTHEROCKS vied for the lead with BEAR ENCOUNTER from along the inside, drifted out slightly nearing the three-sixteenths pole and weakened. JAZZY BULL HORN stumbled at the start then raced in the back of the field, came three-wide into the stretch and failed to seriously threaten. BEAR ENCOUNTER vied for the lead racing two-wide for a half mile and tired. TRIUMPH ROAD was close-up early racing between horses, steadied in tight nearing the five-eighths pole, continued to be forwardly placed for three furlongs and gave way. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT NEARING THE FIVE-EIGHTHS POLE BUT AFTER VIEWING THE FILMS MADE NO CHANGE IN THE ORDER OF FINISH.
