Chart notes
HADES hustled away from the start, dueled pace inside to quarter marker, drifted stretch, dug in late, held. CATALYTIC attended pace three wide to second turn, vied between foes into the lane, bumped twice in the stretch, fought gamely to the wire and just missed for the win, while holding for second. RELAMPAGO VERDE settled early, roused four wide quarter marker, battled to mid-stretch while on the left lead, could not get by the leading pair late and was clear of the rest for third. FIVEEYESONSKYSTARS tracked from the inside early on, was caught a bit in tight at the quarter, found room to upper stretch and was outkicked in the drive. ELDEST SON pressed the pace between foes and two wide to second turn, dropped back nearing the quarter pole and tired in the stretch. AWESOME TRAIN settled early, asked for run at the half-mile, lacked a response into the far turn and came up empty in the stretch. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE STRETCH RUN. IN ADDITION, THE JOCKEY ON CATALYTIC LODGED AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE RIDER OF HADES FOR INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH. THE STEWARDS DETERMINED HADES DRIFTED OUT IN THE STRETCH, MADE CONTACT TWICE WITH CATALYTIC IN THE LANE, AND RULED HADES COST CATALYTIC THE OPPORTUNITY OF A BETTER PLACING. HADES WAS DISQUALIFIED FROM FIRST AND PLACED SECOND.
